This UPS is a "Double Conversion UPS" or a "True Online UPS". Both those terms mean the same thing that these are the best class of UPS's available from a technology standpoint. True online UPS's use a technique known as double conversion to offer a rock-steady power output. They are ideal for equipment that is sentisitive to power fluctuations such as audio recording equipment, sound booths, certain medical and diagnostic equipment, office telephone systems and certain inkjet and photo printers. By using "double conversion", in effect the UPS converts the incoming power into DC and then back into AC. In the process of doing so, the power is cleaned and so, regardless of the quality and level of the power available from the wall outlet, the UPS will always output a clean, steady, 110 volts. Additionally, because of the technology being used, there is no switchover delay to battery power in the event of power loss.
