This is a refurbished uninterruptible power supply/battery backup unit. It has been installed with brand new, high quality GS Portalac batteries, and has been thoroughly tested and then professionally packed in a brand new box. The Matrix 5000XR unit comes with one included SmartCellXR External Battery Cabinet. A single SmartCellXR is equivalent to four (4) SmartCell battery packs in a single cabinet with a single power cord. Additional SmartCell and SmartCellXR cabinets may be purchased to extend the amount of time that the UPS will run on batteries. A single Matrix 5000XR UPS will support both SmartCell and SmartCellXR battery cabinets in any combination up to a maximum of 10 battery cabinets total. The first SmartCell or SmartCellXR connects to the back of the Matrix 5000XR unit itself. Each subsequent battery cabinet connects to the one before it in a daisy-chain type arrangement.

Note that this particular configuration being displayed of a Matrix 5000XR with a single SmartCellXR weighs 542 lbs and most of the weight is in the batteries. For this reason, the batteries are shipped separately. Four lead-acid batteries will need to be installed in the SmartCell XR battery cabinet after the UPS and the battery cabinet have been moved and positioned in the location where they will be used.
